Blog Advertisements

Well, I wasn't going to say anything today but then when I see my advertisement linked to my page it gets me a little frustrated.  I prefer something generic but definitely not pyschic.  After all that is not even what I believe in.  Post on my page something Christian, Jewish, non-religious but not things that I don't even believe in.

Come on google have a brain!  I have never posted things like that!  So maybe this will generate something better for advertisements.  If not then I will delete all advertisements all together.

Priceless Moments

Sometimes the most simplest things in life are those quiet moments you spend it with a loved one.  My most recent moment is when my grandson, Drew, 13, took my hand while in the kitchen, Saturday, and began to dance with me.  As young boys and girls grow up they become so grown up so quickly that a special moment of a teenager are just too priceless not to mention.  I loved the quiet dance in the mist of all the family chatting and visiting.

This special time would not have happened if my daughter hadn't relized that she was in a toxic relationship.  Sometimes it hard to let go of a painful situation to only know you have to stand alone and raise your children alone because its the best thing to do for yourself and for your children.

I'm so thankful for the wisdom and strength my daughter has to made with this hard decision.  I'm thankful that I and her father are there to help her through this all.  But I am most thankful that she has God in her life so she can depend on him and learn to grow in this new season in her life.

My daughter and granddaughter made hair barrettes for the show.

Rosh Hashana: The Jewish New Year !

Yesterday was the start of the Jewish New Year and it was quite a memorial day!  Thursday is my normal prayer meeting day and one of the ladies brought the Yom Teruah, Hebrew Morning service prayers for us to read and proclaim.  It was quite moving as God touched as all as we read and proclaimed God's goodness.  The new year is a time of celebration and praise.  You pray, sing and feast.  You eat apples dipped in honey to remember the sweetness of God.

It also was a night of praise and worship at my church.  Now they did not acknowledge the New Year but God new it was his special day and it all flowed beautifully.  At church there was a special communion service too.  Totally awesome way to end the day!  Shalom!

Time Crunch

So I'm running out of time to get all the items I want to have finished for the craft show on Saturday.  Yes, this will be my offical craft show.  There's so much to do and so little time.  I wish I had more hands or I could find a way to work faster.

Last week I cut out 9 aprons but only got 4 aprons made from the cut outs.  My daughter, Sherrye, says it takes me too long to make aprons and I need to make sure this item is what I am to be  selling;  there could be other items for me to make and sell.  So last night I made one child apron and 4 personal flags besides the aprons if finished earlier.  I thought that was good.

Today, I had too many outside activites that  I only got to cut out 4 vendor aprons but only  made one vendor apron.  These are really quick and will be more profitable in that it takes less time to make than some of my detailed retro aprons. I'm too tired to take pictures of the vendor apron and will post later.

My daughter, Simone, messed with my computer removing all my pictures to the hard drive but now I can't use my picasa.  So my pitures I'm posting are edited properly.

Now I did not use canned green chilis but my new chilis from New Mexico.  It was so tasty, hot but tasty.  Ever since I got the chilis I could not wait to try a chili relleno recipe.  It was sure worth the wait.

Cooking with Fresh Chili Peppers

This weekend I was given fresh chili peppers brought to me all the way from New Mexico.  Now I love chili pepper s but never cooked with fresh ones so I didn't know how to use them.  I recieve a gallon baggy of them and wanted to keep them fresh.  So I went online and looked up how to cook and use them.  I found out that if you are going to freeze them its best to leave and skin on them.  So I washed them and deseeded and devained them, by cutting a slit in them long ways too scoop them out.

So far I chopped one up and tried it in scrambled eggs and the next time I grilled one with onions and my T-bone steak.  It seems you can use peppers in just about everything.  They are so tasty.

Movie Review - Julie & Julia

Two weeks ago I saw this great movie.  I loved this movie not because I love to cook because I don't in fact,  I actually hate to cook but love to eat.  Who doesn't love to eat? I do like to find new recipes that are healthy and taste good too, I just hate to cook. Well, in watching this movie I found myself drawn to the blogs of Julie.  She daily blogged and had a great following.

Here's what hooked me:  A simple everyday woman sets out to try all of Julia's great recipes and posts the results on her blog and include somethings of her daily life.  I would think people would be bored but they are interested in how her food recipes and food experiments turn out.  I want to improve my blog too.  I try this and I try that.  Maybe if I blog about my sewing experiments it might to be interesting to someone.

I don't know if I will be able to keep up with blogging daily but I will try, even if its only a couple of paragraphs I will try make my blog more interesting and engage in interactions with my readers.  Thanks for bearing with me while I've been gone on vacation and getting back to my blogging.
