1 container of cool whip
1 small can of crush pineapple, drained

Irish Roast with Cabbage

Original recipe: Cabbage on the bottom, red bliss potatoes stuffed into the nooks and crannies, slab of corned beef on top sprinkled with pickling spices and then one or two bottles of Juengling lager. I use a cast iron dutch oven that's been the family for decades and is well seasoned and slap on the cast iron lid and let it simmer til done...fork tender.
My version since I didn't have all the ingredients  was to use a chuck roast and  just add a can of beer and pickling spices: cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and dill weed and dill seeds, pepper.  I thickened the broth with corn starch for a nice thick gravy.  I also added carrots to my roast too.

Very tasty and different, since my family never made real Irish food or Mexican food from my heritage.  So now as an adult I'm learning to may more ethnic foods.

Thank you Carolyn Brown Sadowski for the recipe!

Green Fancy Meal!

In honor of St. Patrick's Day!  I will share a cute story.   While going to college, I was teaching my children too cook.  The girls used cookbooks and tried to out do each other when cooking.  They tried their hardest to make fancy foods.  So one day, it was  my son's turn.  He didn't know how to make fancy food or even want to look in a cookbook.  So he decided to make mashed potatoes, pork chops and green beans.   His way  of making it fancy was dying every thing green!  When he served the food the girls were grossed out, "Ew green food"  But I told them I'm sure its good.  We all ate it and it was very yummy!  This is my favorite memory of my son's fancy meal!  Happy St/ Patrick's Day!

(the above pic was not what he made but was to give you the idea of what green foods look like. haha)

Custom Business Aprons

Sometimes we need aprons for other occasions other than the everyday kitchen accessory.  It's great to have an apron personalized for a special person or for your business.  This one was designed with Mary Kay in mind.  Mary Kay's new decorating theme is hot pink and zebra print.  So I incorporated the two prints in this cute apron.  Also on this apron are the "MK" letters for Mary Kay.  You too can have a custom apron for your special some one or for your business.  Just contact me at

The reverse side of this apron is just as cute even without the letters.
This other side can be used for everyday kitchen use or hostessing your next party.
