Featured Artisan Cathy of Cathy Ann's Creations

This week's featured artisan with the It's Better Handmade group is Cathy of Cathy Ann's
Creations. She lives in in NW Ohio. Cathy has been creating jewelry for about 6 years for herself and family members. All of the items here are designed and handcrafted by Cathy. Each item is unique and crafted with handpicked quality components. Cathy loves to design with semi-precious gemstones and crystals and use premium beading wire for all projects.

Cathy is a breast cancer survivor since 2008. She started designing a few pieces here and there berfore to launching her designs online and "Caty Ann's Creations" was born.
She started with a shop on Artfire and soon added a shop on Zibbet as neither of these venues required any investment for a "basic" shop. Recently Cathy has rediscovered my love to crochet and have decided to add "fiber art" to my Zibbet shop.

In Honor of Breast Cancer Survivors

Custom ordered his and her aprons supporting breast cancer survivors.
Man's apron is embroidered with the saying, "Real Men Wear Pink."
The woman's apron is embroidered with the saying, "I Wear Pink For My Mom."
This is a touching way for this children to honor their mother.
My thoughts and prayers go out to their mom and their family.
The retro heart apron is my own design.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Lately, there has been a lot of Breast Cancer awareness, even though it is not the national breast cancer awareness month which is in October.

Some one on facebook started a game where only women play and state what their bra color was and posted it to their wall as the featured statement of the day. My son got into the act and posted the color of his underware too. Too funny. I guess it could be for prostate cancer awareness. There is a problem with that too.

The pink, lavender, red, black, pink, blue, white, butterflied, cheetah printed, nude & clear bra colors made the channel 4 SLC news the other night. Facebook doesn't know who started it going but the Susan B Kolman foundation says it was a great way to raise awareness for breast cancer. Way to go!

I created this blanket in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness too!
It's in my shop: heartandsowdesigns.etsy.com

Then today someone posted this video with the pink glove dance all for Breast Cancer Awareness.

I just love it! It's just too cute! Way to go people!

2 New Blankets

Last night I just finished making two more lap blankets. These can be worn on your shoulders to keep you warm like a shawl or wear it on your lap to keep your legs warm.

My blankets are a form of encouragement for the wearer. They have been prayed over by my prayer team and have positive word affirmations on them. Great for gift giving or keeping for your self.

Purple blanket with the positive word "Strength"

Pink blanket with the positive word "Hope." Pink is the nationally known color for hope for breast cancer survivors and awareness.
