I have many customers requesting custom orders for aprons but not sure what style they want. I have a few choices to help them in there selection of their apron.
The chef apron is a classic bib apron with ties around the neck and below the waist ties. My aprons are a standard one size fits most. I can lengthen them or shorten them and also widen them too.
The BBQ apron is my typical man's apron I created which is trimmed with bias tape and has 3 large wrap around pockets. It is wider and longer than the chef apron. This apron is a favorite for many customers for grilling.
For a little flirty fun I have created the heart apron, its my own style and makes a girl feel feminine and pretty.
My retro apron is trimmed with rick rack and two toned colors. One color for the apron and an accent color for the ties and pockets.
Halter aprons are almost like a dress, some are fully reversable too. They are the perfect apron for a summer BBQ or for a hostessing a party.
For a very traditional apron and those who want to keep more of their clothes clean I have a cobbler apron. This apron has a full front and back and ties at the sides. It also has a double pocket in the front.
I have designed a fun party apron for those costume parties or those intimate parties of two.
As you see I have many apron choices for you to choose from. These aprons can be altered for your special needs and also if you would like a certain fabric print I will try my hardest to find it.
In honor of Memorial Day! I want us to continue to pray for our troops, so many have lost their lives and their loved ones. Our family supports our troops, my father, Jim and father-in-law, Walter were both Navy men. In fact Walter was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked, lucky he was not on his ship when it sank but was on the beach.
My husband and his brother were both army men and they served in the Vietnam War. They survived too. My Son, Jadah, air force,above, and Son-in-law, Chuck, army, below, have both served in Iraq. Chuck was one of the first too be sent home to OK because he was wounded and needed to recover and received a purple heart. Both are living, praise God! But many lives are not. Please pray for the safety of our troops. It's important to remember our freedom and without our soldiers we would not have the freedoms we have in America. God bless our soliders and keep them safe!
Today was the Wheel-A-thon for the Children's Museum. Stillwater is in need of a Children's Museum and to raise funds they decided to have wheel-a-thon which including bikes, scooters, wagons and even Zumba. Here I am with my instructor Beth who is also a middle school teacher.
Zumba is the latest craze for getting physically fit doing dance moves which include, Salsa, Merengue , hip hop, belly dancing and even can have western line dancing. I did not like the traditional aerobic workouts but I love to dance so Zumba was the answer for me. It's so much fun its like not working out at all. Here we are at the wheel-a-thon getting our grove on!

Well, school is out for summer in Stillwater, America. It's an exciting time for teachers and students. As a substitute teacher, I look forward to summers too. I love my students at the middle school but I do enjoy my summers too. The middle school is one school that really makes substitutes feel like they are part of the staff and I have made many friends there.
Everyone are making their vacation plans for this summer. What are your plans? I will be taking care of two of my grandkids and continuing to make more aprons and baby towels and at least one camping trip this summer.
Today started with a graduation program for my grandson's 5th grade graduation. He is my eldest grandchild and it was a memorable moment for everyone. But it was very long and not very enteraining compared to my 6th grade graduation. The one today consisted of award hand outs and then graduation certificate handouts, one song by the graduating class and then a video slide of the students. The video and the songs were the best part.
If you haven't guessed by now I love songs, and videos. I am always thinking or relating things to songs I have heard and have stored away in my memory its just the songs I hear are dated because if the era I grew up in.
Let me share with you how my graduation was more entertaining. My graduation was a mini skit with students going off into space and landing in different countries and viewing their cultural influences in music and dance. There were songs and dances from all around the world for the parents to watch as the students performed. The parents just loved and and so did the students.
Speaking of graduations none of my 3 children ever had a graduation until high school because the superintendent at the time believed that it wasn't an important event to honor until high school. Needless to say my kids miss out on this important milestone in each child's life.
For some of you school is still in session until the middle of June. I personally prefer school ending in June so that school doesn't start back in the fall until after labor day. I just think its too hot to be attending school in August and make the elementary children go out to play in the triple digit heat. I understand small children get fidgety but when its that hot the children just hide under the playground equipment to get out of the sun and find a little cooler area to escape.
Since some of you are still in school and may want to give your teacher or teachers a present honoring the great job they have done with your child, I have a perfect gift for them. Aprons here are just a few of the items I sell on my website.

It's come to my attention that not many people know about the song I'm talking about, not even my sister. So I have included it for your listening pleasure with the orginal singer Dionne Warrick. Everytime I hear the song or think of the song it reminds me of my grandma and the many visits to her home. I hope you enjoy the song.
.... I've got a lot of friends in San Jose." Actually I don't have friends in San Jose but lots of family, some I've never even met. This is the home town of my mother and her siblings as well as my grandmother's home town. The popular song in 1968 always reminds me of my many visits to San Jose to see my grandmother, aunt, uncle and cousins.
I recently made a trip to San Jose to visit my brother who now lives there. It was such a short trip as it was business trip for my husband. But I did have a good time even though it was quite short.
While in San Jose we ate at an cool retro restaurant called Johnny Rockets. Its such a nostalgia place with red bar stools, and waiters dressed in 1940's outfits. They have good old fashion burgers and sodas. It's reminiscent of what was called the soda shops in that time period.
For me it reminded me of the summer I spent with my grandma when I was 13 and would meet her after she got off work and then ride the bus together to go downtown for dinner. We would visit her sister at a department store where she worked. Later, we went to Walgreen's which was a really small drug store with a soda counter and bar stools much like the one's at Johnny Rockets.
We had a wonderful dinner at this diner but I had a hard time holding back the tears as I reminisced of the times I spent with my grandma. Grandma went on to be with the Lord on September 10, 2001. The day before the crash of the twin towers. I will never forget that day when my siblings and I got the news on the way to visit grandma in the hospital.
On September 11, we were to fly home but due to the crash all flights were canceled. So my sister and I rented a car to make our journey home to OK and TX. At that time we weren't sure what was to happen next. All we could think of was getting home to our families and making sure our children were safe. Not that we could do anything mind you but just wanted to be home with our children and our husbands. We did make it home safely.
I learned to sew from my mother in my teens. Later, I sewed jams (shorts), and dresses for my daughters when they were little. I love crafting so I made all kinds of items from flower wreaths and swags, fans, Christmas stockings and many other items for gifts for family and friends and sewed very limited at this time.
I began sewing instead of crafting as a need for myself because I was looking in local stores for aprons with themes for seasonal wear and could not find any locally. I finally realized I really love sewing and it gives me such satisfaction seeing the finished product that I wanted to share my lovely aprons with others. I began my business to help others find the aprons they are looking for too.
As a seamstress I specialize in handmade aprons, hooded baby towels, swaddle bath aprons, and accessories. I opened my etsy shop in the fall of 2007. This blog is dedicated to showing my work and connecting with my readers.
