National Day of Prayer Recap

The National Day of Prayer was May 5th, and there was a great turnout.  There were various speakers praying for various needs for America.  I was blessed with the opportunity to pray for the media.  I considered this an honor to be chosen by my church to represent our church and to pray.  I have not prayed in public like this before but felt that God had a plan and purpose for me to be chosen to do this great honor. So I agreed to pray.

I also felt that in this purpose was more that it appeared to be on the surface.  In others words,  God's plan can be more than just praying  for the media but a lead into other contacts and experiences as God directs.  My first contact from this meeting was an invitation to lunch by a pastor's wife and co-members of a church that I don't attend.  It was an divine appointment to meet with others from another denomination and fellowship.  God is so good and has great plans for me.  He has great plans for you too if you are submissive to him and be available to be used.  This is the key,  submission and availability.

New Creations!

So what do you do if certain items don't sale?  You either chuck them out or you find a way to reuse them or recreate them.  I've decided to not chuck out my prayer flags/spirit flags and recreate them.

I came up with the idea of prayer cloths.  But I didn't want plain ones because that is what I already had.  Instead I am going to add scriptures or prayers embroidered on my little flags.  I want these to be blessings and encouragement to others.  They maybe for the buyer or given away.  The idea if this is to encourage those who are sick or just need up lifting.  After all who doesn't need a little encouragement now and then?

My first attempt is above and the script is not as clear as I would like and the table my machine was on shakes too much to a straight line.  So I moved around my tables and machines and found a desk and put on my embroidery machine.  Below is the second one and the new table/desk and different font and words.  Below is the serenity prayer.   I hope this new idea is catchy and will inspire people to buy and share with others.  After all I want to be a blessing into others lives and this is my way of doing this.

Grams needs prayer

My mother-in-law Genny is in the hospital. Its really serious, she has diabetes and a black left toe and a major infection called MRSA in the toe and she has cellulitis on her foot and leg.

cellutitis on leg

Foot and toe infected, on second day. On day 3 the toe is now blacker.

MRSA, or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, is a bacterium that can cause serious infections. It is resistant to numerous antibiotics of the beta-lactam family, including methicillin and penicillin. This is treatable but complications arise when cellutitis is involved.

This is a highly contagious infection and we are not allowed to touch her or her things and if we do we must wear gloves and wash immediately after touching anything that she came in contact with. We also learned that once over MRCA infection that the person will always be a carrier and at any time this could arise again.

Cellulitis is caused by a type of bacteria entering the skin, usually by way of a cut, abrasion, or break in the skin. This break does not need to be visible.
Cellulitis can develop in as little as 24 hours or can take days to develop. In many cases, cellulitis takes less than a week to disappear with antibiotic therapy. However, it can take months to resolve completely in more serious cases and can result in severe debility or even death if untreated. If it is not properly treated, it may appear to improve but can resurface months or even years later.

This infection and cellutitis has came on rapidly and still is progressing. The leg looks better today, day 4 but the toe looks worst and is blacker. Grams is a diabetic so this makes things worst too. They are doing everything possible to save her foot. We are praying for a miracle.

Sharing love through prayers!

I've had a vision for over two years to share love through prayers and tangible objects. I wanted to be able to give away something that would encourage those who are sick and in need of healing. While praying and sorting things out I came up with prayer shawls and lap blankets. Now I don't know how to knit or crochet but I can sew. So with some divine inspiration I came up with fleece blankets and or prayer shawls with embroidered inspirational words.

My first challenge was to buy an embroidery machine. Two years ago I went to a local sewing store and the sales person told me I could not buy a machine for under $7,000. Now that was way out of my budget. So I kept praying and kept searching for a machine under a $1,000. And I found many machines under $1,000 brand new on the Internet. I really think the Internet can be a God send if you don't allow it to control you. LOL

I got my embroidery machine in November of 2008, and just recently learned how to use it. I believe if God gives as a vision for something he will provide a way to attain it. God is so good.

So now my adventure begins. I sell prayer shawls or lap blankets to bring healing and inspiration to those who wear them. I use only one word for positive affirmations so they can be given to non believers and not be offended.

I have chosen to use colors also as inspiration in choosing what positive words to be sown on the blankets. Listed below are the colors and their meanings. You can pick your favorite color and have one of the words listed added to your blanket or you can pick a word and find out what color goes with the word. I take custom orders. I sell these blankets so I can make more to be given to those who are sick, morning or just need a touch. 20% of all blankets sold will go towards making more blankets to be given away. All prayer shawls or lap blankets have been prayed over by my prayer team, Christian Women's Outreach Inc., CWOI.
