Black Friday Zombies

So I made through another Black Friday Sale.  Wow!  We have learned through the years is to have  more than one person to help you get all the great deals.  Some stores moved up the sale time from 5am to 12am but still had sales at 5am.  Try staying up all day cooking, eating, and then shopping.  Overwhelming.  Luckily some of the family was shopping at 12am and  we had others stay at the store until 5am for the electronic sales.

I'm all for sales but this was ridiculous.  I think they should have had electronics at 3am so after the 12am sale you could get your items and go home and you would not have had people stay up all night just to get a sale.  Who ever invented the Black Friday sale was crazy.  And I'm even more crazy for going.  Ha ha.  Will I do it again of course.  Its become a family tradition to go to Black Friday Sales with my daughters and sometimes one of the men will go to and hold the shopping cart while we make it through the store grabbing our sale item and running back to our cart holder.

Funny thing is I never participated in the Black Friday Sale until my daughters were adults.  All I remember doing was participating in Blue Light sales Christmas Eve and I only did that one year when my husband payday was on Christmas Eve.  Of course there were other blue light sales days too, but I think they were sales done on special occasions and sometimes they were done randomly and you just had to be in the store when they decided to have one and be lucky enough to get on the great sale.  What ever happened to blue light sales?  I haven't heard of them anymore.  Maybe they just have done away with them for the new sales promotions they do now.

What is Etsy?

According to Wikipedia: Etsy is a website that provides the general public with a way to buy and sell handmade items as well as vintage items and craft supplies. Handmade items cover a wide range including art, photography, clothing, jewelry, edibles, bath & beauty products, and toys. The site follows in the tradition of open craft fairs, giving sellers personal storefronts where they list their goods for a fee. It has been compared to "a crafty cross between Amazon and eBay", and to "your grandma's basement".

Etsy also encourages a friendly community between buyers and sellers similar to social networking. There is a Forum section for discussion and networking. Members can contact one another thru an internal message system called Conversations. There is also the option to make a shop or item a Favorite or "Heart" them so you can keep track of shops to easily find them later and be updated of their new items. There is also a section for Custom requests called Alchemy where members can request or offer custom handmade goods. Etsy also supports "street teams", groups of Etsy sellers affiliated by location or interest that work together to promote their team members. Members of etsy are sometimes referred to as Etsians.

Be sure and check out my etsy shop when you are searching for new, vintage and handmade items.

Elton John Eat Your Heart Out!

Today we had to make another run to the party store. Of course my grandkids found something else they had to try on "glasses"!

Elton John was famous for his music but also his many pairs of funny and silly glasses. Well, my two grandkids had the pick of the litter sort of speak.

So here are their cute finds. There are too many to post so here are the best of the best. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Christian as guitar hero!

Lovely pretty pink lady!

The bat as Christian calls them and the smart teacher!

The ice cream man!

Swan Lake!

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! I thought they reminded me of Wally's eyes, the little robot.

Cat Woman Hisss!

Red flames of fire!

Sending you some love and kisses!

This is my favorite Elton's song! Perfect for the event.

Fun Party Shopping

Shopping with children can be a chore but when you turn it into a fun adventure its more fun than a problem.

Since we had to go to the party store for the up coming birthday, I decided to let my grandkids try on some costumes so they would behave and not cause me any problems.

LaRyn's favorite character to dress up is a kitty. She tried on several different cat masks.

Christian insisted he was a cheetah in this costume.

One of Christian's favorite characters is a pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

They had lots of fun trying on costumes and deciding what they could be. Since I don't celebrate Halloween, I decided to have a costume party for the October birthday. It sounds like too much fun. I hope everyone wants to participate including the parents.
