More Troops Sent Off This Morning

This morning was a our local send off of the Army National Guard to Afghanistan.  It was cold brisk morning of 37 degrees.  Families and friends lined the streets in  anticipation of seeing the troops waving, cheering and praying for their safety.  In the midst of the lines of people stood our own line of local police officers.  As the buses drove buy our Stillwater finest gave them their salute of appreciation.

We looked for the faces of the troops but they were hidden in the buses, we could only see an occasional solider standing in the front next to the driver through the clear glass.  It was a memorable moment, as I do have sons who are soliders but they are home safely while others are just now leaving for another tour overseas.

God bless our troops and protect them from harms way and send them back home safely into  the arms of their loved ones.  Amen!
