Refocus Your Focus!

As 2012 comes to an end, it reminds me  that it's time to reevaluate my life and remember to focus on what is really important.  Is it our self, others, our business or God.  If you would to take the time to think this all through you would realize that the most important thing to focus on is God, without him we are nothing.

If we focus on God all things will fall into place. Did we make the right choices last year?  Are we going to make better ones this new year?  Only you know!  Its time to reflect on the past, learn from our mistakes and begin again with new found focus and not allow our self  to be lost in the busyness of life and remember why we are here and what we are to accomplish with your life.

So as these year comes to a close I pray that you my readers will reevaluate your life and if you find you are missing the mark that you will get yourself back on track this new year and rediscover who you are and who you are meant to be and with God's help you will accomplish all your goals and even more!  Many blessings to all my readers and Godspeed!

Biggest Compliment

Just Sunday I got the biggest compliment from my husband. He stated that he realizes how important it is that I don't have a job outside of the home because the family has needs that only I can provide. I feel I finally got recognition that having a home based business and being available for the family is important work.

I, a grandmother, and mother have many times helped take care of the needs of my grandkids when sick,  daughter after surgery, helped with newborn babies, helped take an  mother-in-law with dementia to doctor apts. etc. And I try to work full time on my home business too.

He finally realized that stay at home spouses can do things that others don't have the opportunity to do, but needs to be done. Family has always been important too me and my husband and most of our children's childhood I was a stay at home mom. I did take some time out for college and a few short years to work but we soon realized that it was best to be at home for the children.

I know some families and women don't have that choice because they are single moms but some just desire more things than the time with the children. I respect them all but those who stay at home help their children realize what the most important in life is besides God is them.  After all they are God's gift to us!

Forgiving

One of the hardest things in life is to forgive.  It's hard to forgive others of the offenses they have done against you.  Some offenses are easier to forgive than others but what helps is giving it all to God and allowing him to help you work through your anger, hurt and pain.

But I have since learned of an even harder thing to forgive and that is your own self.  When you are the offender and you realize the pain you have caused its even harder to forgive ourself.  Sometimes its said that we are own worst enemy.  We need again to give all pains and hurts to God and ask him to help you walk this out.

Right now I am learning to control my tongue and control my anger, two really hard things to do.  This weekend I blew it.  I did everything I told myself not to do.  Now, the frustration lies in me, I'm not victim but the one who has caused the undo pain.  But I know my God is my forgiver and he is teaching me a lesson in life to walk away from criticism and learn to accept accusations because you know the truth and arguing gets you know were but causes strife and distance between you and others.

I can only say, I'm sorry and hopefully learn my lesson to stop talking and accept what is being said without arguement.  Thank you God for your forgiveness without him I could not forgive others  or even forgive myself.

Blog Advertisements

Well, I wasn't going to say anything today but then when I see my advertisement linked to my page it gets me a little frustrated.  I prefer something generic but definitely not pyschic.  After all that is not even what I believe in.  Post on my page something Christian, Jewish, non-religious but not things that I don't even believe in.

Come on google have a brain!  I have never posted things like that!  So maybe this will generate something better for advertisements.  If not then I will delete all advertisements all together.

Rosh Hashana: The Jewish New Year !

Yesterday was the start of the Jewish New Year and it was quite a memorial day!  Thursday is my normal prayer meeting day and one of the ladies brought the Yom Teruah, Hebrew Morning service prayers for us to read and proclaim.  It was quite moving as God touched as all as we read and proclaimed God's goodness.  The new year is a time of celebration and praise.  You pray, sing and feast.  You eat apples dipped in honey to remember the sweetness of God.

It also was a night of praise and worship at my church.  Now they did not acknowledge the New Year but God new it was his special day and it all flowed beautifully.  At church there was a special communion service too.  Totally awesome way to end the day!  Shalom!

Finger Flags

My new inspiration is finger flags.  This personal flag could have many names: finger flag, dance scarf, worship flag, prayer flag, etc.  The main point is that this flag was created as form of worship to our Lord.  When you wave a flag in the air its a form of expression, whether its victory, surrender or conquer, it is a form of expression.

In this world there is good and evil and heaven and hell.  There is God and Satan.  Everything God created Satan has a counterfeit.  God created us to worship him and him alone.  The problem came when Satan wanted to be God and wanted to be worshipped.  Because there is only one God, Satan could not have the divine role of ruler of all of creation and the heavens.  So Satan was expelled to the earth to rule it and lead others astray and to follow him instead of God.

Now because Satan is the ruler of the atmosphere we are at war with him to live justly and righteously free from sin.  But of course Satan doesn't like this so the battle is on as to who will gain the people's souls of this world.

This is why we are at war with him and must fight to stay free from him and free from sin and death.  As soliders of the cross we must raise our weapons of warfare and fight the enemy.  We raise our swords- the word of God, we raise our shields of faith and raise our flags of war against our enemy.

In the bible the words banners, flags, and standards are used interchangeably.
STANDARD: Hebrew word: Degal #1714 daw-gal' to flaunt, a flag, banner, standard.  Be conspicuous, chiefest.

BANNER: #5251 Nace: a flag, a signal, sign, standard. From #524 to gleam from afar. to be conspicuous as a signal to raise up a banner.

Heb./Greek dictionary:  A banner used at the top of a pole to mark a rallying point in battle or to serve as an emblem.

*Num. 2:2  The Isrealites each camped with a standard under a banner.
*As we raise our standards and banners we are...awesome as an army with banners.  SS.6:4
*Proclaim and lift up a standard proclaim and do not conceal it.  Jer.50:2
*We do not wrestle with flesh and blood but against principalities and rulers of darkness.  Eph. 6:12 *And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:  Ex. 17:15
Jehovahnissi- Jehovah/God is our banner, or God is our flag!

As you see I have many colors available because God loves colors and each color has different meanings and are mentioned as such when the temples were built and when God expressed how the priests were to be dressed too.

Regrouping and Refocusing

I have decided to regroup and refocus my shop. I'm going to get back to the purpose of my business. I want my business to be more of a blessing than just a business. I want to inspire people and make them feel good about themselves.

I'm not going to hide the fact that I'm a Christian nor flood my shop with all Christian items either. I want to celebrate who I am and who you are too. I want my products to be a blessing to you and to those who you give them too.

I don't want to compromise who I am to get a sell either. I can have principles and values that others will appreciate because my godly principles are good old fashion, honesty, trustworthiness, integrity, helpfulness, understanding and compassion.

Who also has been an inspiration to me is my son. He has been doing the same thing with his life. He has decided to refocus his whole life and start a business too. Right now he has begun to blog to share his thoughts and desires. My son's blog: mightymetcalf Take a look if you dare.

I hope I've made sense and not rambled on. There will be some new items in my shop soon. Just keep checking and you will see my new inspirations.

You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God, Jehovah, has commanded you, that you may live, and that it be well with you. De. 5:33

Divorce is it an option?

So many people have an opinion on whether or not one can get a divorce if they are a Christian. My opinion is yes they can. I do take marriage very seriously as I have been married 34 yrs to a wonderful man. Was every day of our marriage wedded bliss? No, of course not but we have strived to put God first and to constantly work on our marriage.

I've researched about divorce more readily because of family members who are debating this issue. In the bible it quotes that there are reasons that God can understand a person wanting to divorce. One was for infidelity and the other for abuse.

I Corthians 5:11 You are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people.
Here is where I see that divorce is acceptable. When a spouse is involved in sexual sins, abusive, a drunkard, or drug addict.

Growing up with an alcoholic abusive father was never easy and in fact very scary. I prayed and I prayed and so did my mother that my father would change but little did I know that in order for a person to change they have to want it too. All the prayers in the world can not change man's own will. God gave us a will and so we have free choice and we must at times accept that in order for a person to change he must want to do it too.

Does that mean we are to stop praying, no. We continue to pray and hope that some day that the person's heart will soften so God can work on them.

Saying all this because I feel too many people fall back into the idea because we are Christians we must accept bad behavior and stay in marriages that are painful, abusive and destructive, or stay because of children. I feel staying for the children isn't a good reason. If there is constant fighting and bickering what does that teach the children and how does that help them? Children need a home where there is love and peace and respect for each other and not badgering, belittling, arguing and fighting.

I'm thankful that in today's society we have Domestic Violence for the abused. I say abused because many men are abused just like the women are, its just few cases. Abuse comes in many forms; its not all physical its also mental, verbal and emotional abuse as well. In some marriages I see wives verbally belittle their husbands and then they wonder why their marriage doesn't work. Marriage is not 50-50 but its where each person must give 100% of themselves to make it work.

Yes, God hates divorce but he allows it in certain circumstances too.
For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel Mal. 2:16

Suppose a man marries a woman but she does not please him. Having discovered something wrong with her, he writes her a letter of divorce, hands it to her, and sends her away from his house. When she leaves his house, she is free to marry another man Deu. 24:1,2
(This above passage was a law given by Moses)
Jesus said: “You have heard the law that says, ‘A man can divorce his wife by merely giving her a written notice of divorce.’ But I say that a man who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. Matt. 5:31
There are six things the Lord hates—
no, seven things he detests:
haughty eyes (pride),
a lying tongue,
hands that kill the innocent,
a heart that plots evil,
feet that race to do wrong,
a false witness who pours out lies,
a person who sows discord in a family. Proverbs 6:16-19

Here we see that God hates other things besides divorce. So many people tell me that God only hates divorce and that is not true. The only unpardonable sin is blasmphemy against the Holy Spirit. All other sins are forgivible.

Matthew 12:31-32 says, "And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
In life we must make our choices wisely, and we must think things through before we marry. When we are already in a bad marriage we need to go to counseling when it isn't working and pray scriptures over our mate and ourself to work on having a healthy relationship before immediately jumping into a divorce. The final decision must be made up by the individual and God. He must choose whether to stay in the relationship and work on issues and be willing to forgive and forget or deicide its time to let go and move on. At any rate it is truely a hard decision to make. I pray all those considering this step will take the time and think it through before the final decision is made.
