Recycling One Man's Shirt

I have become a fan of recycling clothing lately.  My latest project is to see how many items I can get out of  one man's dress shirt.  First I made a halter apron.  I had all these scraps left over and just don't like to waste or through away anything.  So I decided to brainstorm and come up with ideas to use my scraps.  I came up with the cuff bracelets, and then collars, I made two collar.  Next I made a rosette to add to a headband.  There an now only small pieces of cloth left.  I think I did rather well in creating unique and usable items.

New Vintage Halter Apron

I just love vintage sheets and the cute designs on them. So I decided to make a darling halter apron with some sheets. I made a totally reversible apron that is as cute on the front side as the back side. Frankly, I can't even tell which is the front or back. LOL This is how it turned out.

Bust here is Navy with flowers, skirt turquoise blue daisies and light blue waistband.

This is the reverse side with the Turquoise blue daisies on the bust and the navy and flower on the skirt. The waist band is the same light blue.

It's waiting for a home at my shop.

Summer Fun with my new creation just for me!

An up coming birthday party inspired me to make myself an apron. I am one of the world's messiest cooks around. I wanted to look good for the party so I needed a cute apron. I decided to make a halter apron because its really hot here 103. Aprons need not be drab but can be cute for the hostess. I tried to think of matching my clothes to an apron but I didn't have any fabric to go with the outfit I wanted to wear. Hum, imagine that.

I decided to find cute appealing fabric and just make something I liked and then find some outfit to go with it. Boy, that was much easier.

My apron I decided on was made from scraps of fabric I had left over, even from an old shower curtain I once used. So I have vintage fabric and new fabric. My reversible apron will give me two different looks for what ever mood I'm in.

Here are some halter aprons in my shop.
