Here Comes the Bride

Spring and summer brings the spotlight of the season to brides. I love how pretty the brides look on their wedding day. Those beautiful flowing gowns and the accessories they wear.  Bridal showers are important too.  With this in mind I decided to create lovely bridal accessories from special occasion aprons to wedding day accessories.

This lovely white crisp bridal apron is great for the bridal shower,
reception or everyday wear after the wedding.
What ever time the bride decides to wear her white apron is appropriate.
Just slip it on over your outfit and you will become the blushing bride over and over again.

White lace and ribbon cuffs are the perfect accessory to the brides wedding day look.
They have ribbon ties in the back to fit all size wrists.

Victorian inspired choker necklace adds lace and elegance to the brides wedding ensemble

Bridal hair facsinator for the bride who doesn't want the traditional long veil but a simple short elegant one.

New Photography Adventure!

I have decided to take up photography.  I always took pictures but with just haste and for the moment.  Now I am working towards a style and purpose.  My goal is to take pictures of children in vintage costumes.  I will experiment with other types of pictures too but want to do this professionally too.  Its another form of art that I have fell in love with.  When you have a goal and vision you look at things with new eyes and look at the whole picture not just the person or thing shooting.

Recycling One Man's Shirt

I have become a fan of recycling clothing lately.  My latest project is to see how many items I can get out of  one man's dress shirt.  First I made a halter apron.  I had all these scraps left over and just don't like to waste or through away anything.  So I decided to brainstorm and come up with ideas to use my scraps.  I came up with the cuff bracelets, and then collars, I made two collar.  Next I made a rosette to add to a headband.  There an now only small pieces of cloth left.  I think I did rather well in creating unique and usable items.

My First Fair Competition

This year was my first year to enter into the Payne County Fair.  Year after year I see the flier and brochure about the fair but have never entered an item.  I always thought one of these years or even thought oh well I will never win.  But this year I was encouraged by friends to enter the fair and just see if you might win.  And to my surprise I did win a few ribbons.

My rainbow polka dot and heart apron won 1st place ribbon.

My scripture handkerchief won 2nd place.

My Victorian cuffs won 3rd place

My shirt apron won 4th place.

My snow leopard tote won 5th place

I am so blessed and impressed I won these ribbons for my handy work.  Its great to get sales but its just quite rewarding to place and win ribbons for your work too.

New Design Cuff Bracelets

I am one of these designers that just don't like to waste anything so I design and make shirt aprons and have left over fabric and decided there has to be something to do with the cuffs of the shirts and came up these pretty Victorian cuff bracelets.

Going Green Golfing Apron

Do you have a golfer in the family? Father's Day is around the corner and I had this wonderful golf shower curtain I found at a thrift store. I thought this would make a lovely man's apron.

My husband used to BBQ but he doesn't cook anything now. But when he saw this he sure was eyeing it since he is an avid golfer so anything about golfing attracts his attention.  This sure would make a golfer a happy man.

It's Beginning to Look like Christmas

I'm finally getting around to posting my holiday decorations. It took me forever to finish it all, even with it all being less than normal. Too much pretties to put out and then take down so this year I decorated sparingly but it still looks good if I say so myself. I started Thanksgiving weekend and finished it about a week afterwards but then I would add touch ups as the days went by.

Buffet decor, if you haven't already noticed I love the Victorian look.

Nut crackers on the entertainment center. The family room is decorated in things my husband loves and my room is the rest of the house. hehe. Well at least I gave him a room. We did share the office but I just recently took it totally over too. I had to have a place for my business.
