Pumpkin Pillowcase Dresses

My newest creations are pillowcase dresses.

I make these lovely dresses with your little girl in mind.  They can be almost any design and pattern and most come with an applique.  They are great for gift giving or for your holiday dress up fun!

Sophie models this cute custom tiger print pumpkin dress.
Sizes come from infant to size 14.

Tiger pumpkins are great for fall, Thanksgiving and
even for your team spirit of  Orange and Black OSU.

Retro polka dot pumpkins are so fun and cute,
just what your little girl needs for the fall and beyond.

Fall and winter dresses are all lined and have adjustable ties for your when your child grows.

Custom order your dresses here: Heartnsow.com or email me here: Heart & Sow Designs

Small and large petal flower barrettes

Many of these are made with vintage buttons too. They will be such a steal. Can't wait to see how it all goes.

Human Trafficking in America?

Slavery isn’t over; the reality is, nearly 150 years after the abolition of slavery in the United States, human trafficking remains a booming industry around the world. Because this is happening in America and no longer just in other countries its time we Americans wake up and look into ways we can help make people more aware and help those caught up in this terrible crime against humanity.

At the End of Slavery is filmed on location in India, Cambodia, and the Philippines with undercover footage from the front-lines of rescue efforts and first-person testimony of those freed from illegal slavery. The filmmakers hope to expose the atrocious issues of modern-slavery by making the compelling argument that with their success in finding and rescuing victims, and prosecuting those responsible, there can be a viable end to slave trade.

While this film focuses specifically on the slave industry in Asia, human trafficking is happening all around the world – even in the U.S. Also, sex tourism is on the rise; in a recent case, three U.S. citizens were arrested after traveling to Asia to have sex with child prostitutes.

Here is the trailer to "At the End of Slavery"

Much of this information was taken from the Causecast website.

Here are were you can go to help.

This video will be shown locally on December 3rd at LifeChurch.tv at 7pm and will be presented by OSU International Justice Mission

Salsa Ball 2009

Last night was the Salsa Ball in Stillwater, with live Latin Music and dancing. It was loads of fun. I do know the basic salsa steps from Zumba but my poor hubby just could not get it down. So we danced alright but nothing Latin other than my little hip swinging. Hopefully we can get in some more practice before we go again. But I have to admit my husband was such a good sport to even take me, since he does not like to dance at all. I rarely get a chance to go out so I was not going to pass this night up.

For your enjoyment here are some of the fun moves my husband made at the ball. Now you can see what I was up against but you've just got to love his sense of humor!

Homecoming 2009

Stillwater, Oklahoma is the home of Oklahoma State University. Annually we have the homecoming game and parade. This is when most family and friends gather together to celebrate with various kinds of festivities.

It starts on a Friday night with a walk-around featuring fraternities and sororities dorm decorations in the theme of the year. This years theme is "Branded For Life." Not only are there decorated dorms with tissue paper class decks, but there are lots of booths of food and orange and black gift items. We go to see the class decks.

From left to right: Me, daughter, Sherrye, grandchildren Angel, Christian, Ally, and LaRyn.

On Saturday is the parade and the homecoming game. We always go to the parade, listen to the updates of the game. We root for our team but just don't buy the tickets.

OSU mascot is Pistol Pete and he is branding the MO wildcat!

Grandkids Christian and Angel checking out the floats.

At the parade we got to see Garth Brooks, Garth is a cool country singer who attended OSU for college. We saw Clydesdale's, bands and a few floats. Twenty years ago the parade had lots of floats but now they are far and few between.

This is Garth Brooks!

Even Snoopy made an appearance.

New Apron

This is my newest apron. It's a custom order for a friend. My friend loves orange and black as they are the college colors of the local University in our town. All my aprons can be made in the colors you like, just ask me and I will be happy to accommodate your wishes.
