Men in Aprons

I just was browsing on Flickr and realize that 3 of my men's aprons were chosen to be in a gallery of "Men in Aprons."  Apparently, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores decided to make up a gallery of men in aprons.  I feel honored to be apart of Jo-Ann's gallery.  Mine are the green camo, grey camo and the chili pepper aprons!

Where Do You Find The Best Burger?

You'll find the best burger in Oklahoma in a little town in a old country store called Meers Store and resturant. In the Wichita Mountains of Southwest Oklahoma there is a ramshackle building, but on the inside you will find a hamburger that was recently named one of the top 3 burgers in America by Bon Appetit magazine.

The Meers Store and Restaurant, often referred to as the "world famous" Meers Store and Restaurant was featured on the Food Network special "America's Best... Best Places For American Eats From Steak to Pizza" on Saturday August 18, 2007. The store's owners and staff are giddy about the honor, but it is not the only one the restaurant has received this year. Meers was also named by Travelocity as one of their "Local Secrets, Big Finds for 2007.

The recognition does not stop there either. The Meers Store and Restaurant has the honor of being listed in the recent New York Times best seller "One Thousand Places to See in the U.S.A and Canada Before you Die." It was named a must-visit location and the Tulsa World has voted the Meersburger as the "Best Burger in Oklahoma."

• Meersburgers are made with 97% lean grass fed Longhorn beef from there own Longhorn herd.

The burger was quite tasty and enjoyed every bite.  They also have a wonderful take home menu for a great price for the family, which includes 16oz brisket, 2 pts of sides, 16oz. polish sausage, and cobbler for only $17 for family of 4.  We decided to try both.  All was very good!

Chili Peppers Fountain of Youth?

The other day I was admiring a friends photo and noticed how youthful she looked in her 50's.  I asked her for her beauty secrets and she stated that it was from eating chili peppers.  So I set out to see if there was any truth to this.  Below is what I found.

Seven reasons to turn up the heat in your next meal with chili peppers.

1. Fight Cancer
2. Provide Pain Relief
3. Prevent Sinusitis and Relieve Congestion
4. Fight Inflammation
5. Soothe Intestinal Diseases
6. Burn Fat and Lose Weight
7. Protect Your Heart

So with these information I'm going to make sure I eat lots of chili peppers.  ;)

Child's Play

About a month ago a friend mentioned how she would like to have ribbon streamers for worship.  I thought that is a great idea.  Not only is it good for worship but children love to play with ribbons for dance, gymnastic and just all aroun fun.  So here are my verison of this upbeat ribbon streamers.  I've added beads to make them more eye appealing and more worship elegant.  Some will have bells too for tingling in the wind.

Hunting For Fox?

My latest apron I finished reminds me of the classic game of fox hunting.  Although there isn't any real foxes or hunting going on in this print the game is of noteworthy meantion here.  Dark blue background with rider and horse makes a lovely gift for Dad.  Great gift for the horse lover!

Going Green Golfing Apron

Do you have a golfer in the family? Father's Day is around the corner and I had this wonderful golf shower curtain I found at a thrift store. I thought this would make a lovely man's apron.

My husband used to BBQ but he doesn't cook anything now. But when he saw this he sure was eyeing it since he is an avid golfer so anything about golfing attracts his attention.  This sure would make a golfer a happy man.
