My Handmade Christmas Gifts

This year like every year I try to find something to make different for my grandchildren.  They so look forward to something handmade from grandma.  One year I didn't make anything for them and they were very disappointed.  So now I make sure I make them something even if its a little thing.  This year my time was limited due to my business but still wanted to make them feel special and that grandma loves them and thinks of them often.    Here is a few of the pillow cases I made for my grandchildren this year.

Last Minute Gift Idea- Fingerless Gloves

Go on over to Artfire. com and check all the great gift ideas.  One shop stands out to me.  She doesn't have a lot of items but what she has are just great items.  This shop is Miss Lily's Garments and she has fingerless gloves.  They come in three sizes, short, mid length and elbow length.

I have a pair and they are so practical for when you are cold and need to use your fingers.  You can sew, drive, cut or what ever your need to do when cold but need to work.  These gloves come in 26 different colors and some have a cable stitch or with cute colorful buttons.

Miss Lily's Garments are found at

Jingle Bell Cash!

So today was the Jingle Bell Sweepstakes for $10,000 cash prize.  We went to the High School Stadium to hear the numbers and see if we won.  Now this is what our little town of Stillwater has done to help encourage people to shop locally.  I personally have never participated before but since I had a 100 tickets I decided to attend.   Know one I knew won but I do know that there were winners.  We stood out in 33 degree cold just at a chance to win.  Next year if we do this I will wait in the car and then go to the stadium to claim my prize if I win no since freezing needlessly.

What wasn't fair is the shops that participate don't always tell you  that they are participating and most don't even hand out the tickets if you shop in their shops.  We found that many people went to shops and resturants and didn't get tickets for shopping in these business.  Next year we know now to ask for them.

I also just learned to look on the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce to see the businesses that participated in the sweepstake drawing.  I know it was listed in the local paper but we don't get  the paper.

Blessings & Miracles

Sometimes miracles just happen and you want to shout it from the roof top. My daughter has been blessed and blessed and blessed.  She's been going through a really hard time as a single parent but God is there helping her every step of the way.  She's been meeting the challenge of our pastor to sow seeds and reap harvest.  God has never failed and you can never out give God.  Praise God that he is there to help her through everything.  Without Him we are nothing and we can't accomplish anything.  Praise be to God for miracles!
