Vintage Finds

I just can't resist shopping for more fabrics its one of my favorite things to do. It doesn't matter if its new fabric or vintage items to recycle into other usable items. These are my finds from last weeks shopping venture.

Art Smocks for Children

Children love to be creative but they can also be very messy. Arts and crafts, including painting can be a chore for moms when their child's clothing get messy. I have designed my own craft smock. This is the perfect thing to help your child stay clean while mom stresses less on clothing.

Most art smock patterns are for small children from 3 to 5, but children beyond that age like to be creative too. These aprons are durable and machine washable and for ages 5-10. I can make them smaller or larger for your child.

Friday Blog Feature

Blog Featured today is VABeach Quilter. Kim is a very talented person who makes all kinds of items from quilts, purses, totes, diaper bags, wallets and even needle craft too. Her blog features many other blogs and helps them promote their items.

She has been a quilter for almost 10 years and even teaches quilting at the local quilt shop. For relaxing she likes to work with wool and cross-stitching.

She has also made a number of quilts for local MLB players and their families and had a custom ordered quilt mentioned in an article by Seth Livingstone, reporter for USA Today Sports.

Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich recipe

Prep time: 22 Min. Cook time: 15 Min. Serves: 4

Ingredients
2 tsp Hungarian paprika
2 tsp chili powder
1 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup hot pepper sauce (ex. Frank's RedHot Original)
4 whole-grain buns, split
4 lettuce leaves

Instructions
In a small bowl, combine paprika and chili powder. Then sprinkle spice blend over chicken breasts.

Lightly coat a large skillet with cooking spray and place over medium-low heat. Place chicken breasts in skillet; cook for 6 minutes. Turn and cook until no longer pink in the center; about 6 more minutes.

Place a large saucepan over low heat. Add olive oil and heat for 1 minute. Stir in hot pepper sauce.

When the chicken breasts are done, remove from skillet, place in saucepan and coat evenly with hot pepper sauce mixture.

Place a whole-grain bun on each four plates, top with lettuce and a portion-sized chicken breast.

Serve with celery, carrot sticks and blue cheese dressing for a complete meal.

New Items

Just listed some more prayer shawls or lap blankets. These items have been prayed over by my prayer group. The colors coordinate with the word embroidered on the blanket. These are to keep you warm at work or home. They can be used on your lap or across your shoulders for warmth on cold days or when the air conditioner makes a person chilly.
